XM Satellite Radio Features JMP

Do you have XM Satellite radio? If so, you’re in luck. Channel 72, “Beyond Jazz” will be airing a smoking live performance of ours from the Blue Note in Columbus Missouri on 2/12/05 featuring Mad Dog, Mark Guiliana, Scott Ritchie and Jamie Masefield. This will be aired on Wednesday June 21 at 11 PM eastern and 8 PM Pacific. It will be reaired on Sunday June 25 at 8 PM eastern and 5 PM Pacific. It’s “The Jazz Mandolin Project Live in the Heartland” on that weeks edition of “Live @ BJ! This is probably the only time that a 44 minute killer version of Xenoblast will ever have been heard on the air waves! Don’t miss it.

On Saturday, June 24th , XM Radio’s Beyond Jazz will present another edition of their weekly feature “Words & Music on Beyond Jazz that takes a look at one the most interesting trends in modern jazz with a special presentation titled “Roots-Jazz: A New Fusion”. Who are the musicians who are playing traditional instruments like the banjo, fiddle dobro and mandolin and creating this new form of Moja? This presentation will feature Michelle Sammartino talking with Jamie Masefield, XM’s Bob Edwards speaks with Bela Fleck and Russ Davis talks to Bill Evans about his Grammy nominated release “Soul-Grass.” Interview segments followed by music will begin each hour from Noon through Midnight Eastern time (9 AM- 9 PM Pacific).
